Pulmonary Rehabilitation can help patients with lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and asthma. This is a 10-week program wither patients meet twice a week. Pulmonary Rehabilitation includes exercise training along with education about lung disease, medication, diet and stress. The biggest emphasis is on breathing retraining. Medicare and primary insurance companies cover this program. Goals for the rehab program are the decrease shortness of breath, increase strength and endurance, and improve the quality of life.
