Oatmeal Quick Break

1 ½ c. milk
1 c. oatmeal
½ c. raisins (optional)
2 c. flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
¾ c. sugar
1 egg
nuts (optional)

Scald 1 ½ c. milk.  Add 1 c. oatmeal and ½ c. raisins.  Cool.  Mix in other ingredients.  Spoon into sprayed loaf pan.  Bake at 275 ° F. for 1 hour.  Makes 1 loaf.

Note:  The mixture seems dry at first but everything does mix together well.  And yes the 275 ° is correct.
