Cream Soup Substitute

Yield:  9 – 10, 10 oz. cans of cream soup

2 cups non fat dry milk
¾ cup cornstarch
¼ cup instant chicken bouillon
2 T. dried onion flakes
½ t. pepper
1 t. basil
1 t. thyme

Combine and mix all ingredients.  Store in airtight container.  Makes 3 cups of dry mix. 

To make equivalent of 1 – 10 oz. can cream soup (or 1 ½ cups sauce), combine 1/3 cup dry mix with 1 ¼ cups water or skim milk.  Stir over low heat until bubbling.  May add extra dry mix if mixture needs more thickness.  You may add mushrooms, cooked celery, chopped onions, or dried herbs.
